3:30pm Meeting was called to order by President Mary Gershwin. Attendance was taken.

Pres. Mary reviewed minutes of 9/7/03 meeting.

Francis moved for approval; Ron seconded; minutes approved.

New guests and all attendees introduced themselves.

General report and discussion regarding Dr. Miera’s visit. Those members who hosted their visit were Roger and Betty Brown, Steve Waechter, Ron and Nadja, and Francis.

Treasurer’s report given. $7,133.03 balance in the account; $600.00 ‘grant’ to the Miera’s for their annual conference (in Lexington, KY) registration remains to be deducted.

Mary Gershwin and Francis also confirmed that membership dues are due by January 1, 2004. They requested payment at the meeting, if possible. ($30./individual; $35/couple)

Officer elections were held. The slate of officers presented was:

Meredith motioned to close nominations for the above slate of officers and for election on the slate; Francis seconded the motion. The motion to elect the slate carried.

Francis discussed the status and issue of the Chapter’s website. He asked that a committee of people volunteer to review the possible parameters of the website and make a proposal to the Chapter at its next meeting. The following people were interested in assisting: Francis, Linda, Mary Pierce, Ron, Nadja, and Roger Brown.

Mary Pierce discussed trade missions which she recently made to Belo.

A general discussion was held regarding MG-Denver/Greeley as sister cities, as well as possible displays at DIA and the City & County of Denver Building. Mary Gershwin will assist in the follow-up regarding the display cases at DIA. Roger to assist with the Diamantina-Greeley sister cities re-generation.

A general discussion was held regarding possible business activities with the consulate. Ron and Nadja, Roger, Mary Pierce, and Mary Gershwin will follow-up.

Mary Gershwin agreed to call Malcolm at the National POA office to discuss obtaining English/Portuguese POA materials.

Linda and Francis discussed issuing a letter(s) to the Kellogg Foundation to:

1) offer our participation in any review of the Fellows Program; and

2) investigate any possible grant source to support the $20,000US needed for construction of the medical clinic (supplies and equipment will be donated by sources already identified)

Francis moved that these letters be issued; Steve seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Roger reported about his and Jon’s meeting with the City of Greeley Mayor regarding the sister cities and the water project. The Mayor agreed to bring the sister city issue before the City Council.

The next meetings were set, as follows:

Sunday, March 7, 2004 Ron and Nadja’s residence

Sunday, June 6, 2004 Roger and Mary’s residence

The meeting moved into casual entertainment, with no further business.
