3:20pm Meeting was called to order by President Francis Wardle. Attendance was taken.
Pres. Francis reviewed minutes of 3/7/04 meeting.
Mary moved for approval of minutes; Roger seconded; motion passed.
Francis discussed Acyr’s visit and how Acyr is following up on his projects.
Francis discussed the rechartering effort, giving the background and a review of the status. Steve, Jon and Francis will resolve the effort for non-profit status under IRS Code §501(c)(3).
Two travel grants applications, Dr. Rozgonyi and Dr. Ramirez-Rogriguez, were shared with the group. Francis noted both done through the MG chapter, meeting our concerns about Iracambi. Francis explained the status and background of the grants. Linda moved that Francis approve the grants, conditioned upon 1)both paid dues, 2)at least Francis met with them, and 3)resolve the issue of simultaneous multiple grants. A general discussion was held. Roger second; motion passed.
Francis wanted to review the Chapter’s travel grant approval process. He noted travel grants are now unlimited. He reviewed the 12/6/02 meeting minutes on this process. The group resolved that the President should either hold a grant application until a meeting or poll the Chapter via Internet. The ruling on approval of a travel grant is ultimately made by the President.
New business: Mary discussed the upcoming POA Pres. Malcolm’s visit on July 18-19, 2004. She will arrange a party on July 18th and the opportunity to discuss current POA status with him for Chapter members.
Treasurer’s Report: very little activity, $7,238.64 balance. Many membership dues have been received. The national membership dues were paid in March, 2004.
Linda discussed Luzia Lisita’s fellowship application, and the possibilities for placement in the Denver area.
Mary motioned that the Chapter approved $2,000.00 for the costs of document preparation and applying for non-profit status with the IRS. Francis seconded the motion; motion passed.
The International Partners Convention is in Guatemala, November, 2004. Mary moved that the Chapter pay the registration fees for up to 8 members. A poll was taken as to those interested in attending: Linda (considering applying for travel grant to initiate project in Belo), Roger, Betty, Mary, Steve. Francis seconded; motion passed.
Beverly Bell, of the Greeley Children’s Chorale, was introduced. She and Steve are following up on plans for fund-raising for their trip to Minas Gerais in June or July, 2005. The group supported having suggested donations at the July 18th Presidential Visit party. Beverly and Steve will also resolve the possibility of a small group of the Chorale sing at the party.
Bryan requested he be permitted to resign as Vice-President, discussing his travel schedule and the involvement of Steve. Bryan moved Steve Waechter be approved as the Chapter Vice-President. Francis seconded; motion passed.

Bryan inquired about new members’ orientations. Francis said new members can attend any meetings. Roger suggested providing videos about Partners; the video would need to be copied to have more to provide.
Steve discussed the Chapter banner. It has been completed and he will pick it up.
The meeting adjourned at 4:40pm, and moved into casual fellowship with no further business.
