3:15pm Meeting was called to order by Vice-President Stephen Waechter. Attendance was taken.
VP Stephen reviewed minutes of 3/6/05 meeting. Motion for approval of minutes by Ron, Carolyn 2nd; motion passed.
Ron discussed process and issues of Cid’s travel and schedule. Motion to reimburse Farinas for their out-of-pocket costs to rent a sound system ($54.00, approximately) by Linda, Carolyn 2nd; motion passed.
Stephen discussed Joao Meira’s passing and his recent experiences with Joao. Stephen continued to provide a verbal trip report on his recent travel to MG (non-Partners trip).
Stephen provided an update on the children’s choir visit plans. The current trip is northbound of 30 people (20 singers, 7 musicians, 3 chaperones). It is still planned for Oct. 8-16th. The group recommended, in light of recent experiences, that the travelers begin their Visa process ASAP. Stephen will follow-up to confirm the dates and other travel plans.
Bryan discussed Joao’s legacy and his idea of initiating a 501(c)(3) for the purpose of supporting two travel grants (north and southbound each) annually on music topics.
Visitor Cid was introduced. The group discussed his experiences and ideas for musical exchanges. Part of his visit has involved sharing information and knowledge, cultural differences/variety of ideas, and people’s musical influences. Cid did not believe exchanges south would be particularly useful for these purposes.

The meeting adjourned at 4:16pm, and moved into casual fellowship with no further business.

along that they are preparing applications for the “Samba Summer Camp”,
tentatively set for July 21-30.
Membership reminders:
Membership dues were due by January 1, 2005. Please make payment at the meeting, if possible. ($30./individual; $35/couple) Dues can always be paid directly to Treasurer Jon Monson.
