3:58pm Meeting was called to order by President Mary Gershwin. Attendance was taken.

Pres. Mary reviewed minutes of 6/16/03 meeting.

Steven moved for approval; Francis seconded; minutes approved.

New guests and all attendees introduced themselves.

Mary provided report from Jon re: Brazilian ambassador visit/luncheon.

Mary discussed upcoming travel grant by Bryan (2 weeks-Belo) and Meredith (5 weeks-Iracambi project).

Mary reported on Heloisa’s art show and recent art gallery opening.

Mary discussed film festival invitation for participation. Members will be sent information about the film’s showing. No motions made regarding participation/payment by Chapter for group.

Treasurer’s report given. $7,254.02 balance in account.

Mary reported on the Iracambi project status and shared website information about it.

The Partners annual convention in Lexington, KY was discussed. Mary passed around information on the convention. Roger moved that the Chapter provide $300./person (up to 5 people) for participation at convention; Francis seconded; motion carried.

Steve provided a diagram of an 8 foot x 3 foot banner being prepared. It is donated by Larry Breslin of Deerhead Signs. Linda will write a letter acknowledging the donation for Mary to sign. Roger moved for approval of the banner as currently reflected; Francis seconded; motion carried.

Steve announced the initial generation of a Brazilian music festival. The Colorado School of Mines has provided initial interest in sponsorship. It is currently anticipated to occur next September, 2004, although it may be delayed until September, 2005 due to artist availability.
