Em 09 de Dezembro de 2008 às 19h30minh, à Rua Alvarenga Peixoto 444 em Belo Horizonte, realizou-se uma reunião ordinária do Comitê Minas Gerais dos Companheiros das Américas. Oito pessoas compareceram ao encontro, conforme lista de presenças a seguir.

A presidente do Comitê Minas Gerais, Luzia Lisita, abriu a reunião discutindo o pouco Ibope de nossas reuniões. E assim várias idéias de como captar novos membros foram colocadas em questão, como a demonstração de vídeos dos Companheiros e divulgação por e-mail.

A seguir contamos com a presença de Octavio Rossi de Morais (Médico Veterinário e Doutor em melhoramento Animal), funcionário do Epamig, que relatou sua produtiva visita ao Colorado. Segundo ele, foi muito bem recepcionado e teve uma agenda e reuniões muito produtivas principalmente com a Universidade do Colorado onde fizeram uma parceria em pesquisas conjuntas entre Minas Gerais e Colorado. Outra proposta ainda em estudos, foi uma parceria entre funcionários do Epamig em fazer treinamento na Universidade.

A presidente então relatou a produtiva visita de Rhoda Rogers a Minas Gerais. Ela fez palestras e falou para enfermeiras e estudantes em Ouro Preto, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais e PUC (Pontifica Universidade Católica) e disse ter ficado surpreendida como estavam muito bem informadas sobre o tema apresentado, diabetes em Gestantes. Rhoda visitou também Sabará e Diamantina.

Carolina Cordeiro relatou sua participação no Workshop sobre Educação e Cultura dias 06 e 07 de Novembro em Washington Dc e a visita a Colorado.

O próximo tema discutido foi o Projeto de Turismo Voluntário, onde ficou definido que, se o comitê contra parte concordar, iremos trabalhar primeiro com a vinda de turistas americanos a Minas Gerais. Carolina irá bolar o roteiro dia a dia da viagem. Nara irá providenciar um Folder (folheto ou uma “Lâmina” por e-mail) para que o comitê do Colorado possa divulgar. Em um segundo momento iremos fazer a cotação de custo desta viagem que a princípio esta programada para Junho ou Julho de 2010.

Finalizamos a reunião com a confraternização de final de ano.

The ordinary meeting of Minas Gerais Committee of Partners of the Américas took place on December 9^th, 2008, at 7:30 p.m., at Alvarenga Peixoto Street, 444, in Belo Horizonte. Eight people attended the meeting, as you can see below.

The president of Minas Gerais Committee, Luzia Lisita, started the meeting talking about the fact that not many members are actually attending the meetings. With that said, many ideas were brought up about how to get more members, like showing Partners video to people and sending it through email, too.

Next, Octavio Rossi de Morais (Veterinarian and Phd. In Animal issues), from Epamig, reported to the group his productive visit to Colorado. According to him, he was really well received there. He had a full agenda to cover, and attended many meetings – especially with Colorado University, with which they established a partnership MG- CO concerning research projects. Another partnership that is still being analyzed is one for Epamig employees to get trained by the University.

The president also talked about the visit of Rhoda Rogers to Minas Gerais. Rhoda lectured to nurses and students in Ouro Preto, at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, and at PUC (Pontifica Universidade Católica). She said she was surprised by how the audience was well-informed on the topic she was presenting, Gestational Diabetes. Rhoda also visited Sabará and Diamantina in her stay in Minas.

Carolina Cordeiro talked about her trip to Washigton, DC to participate of the Education and Culture Workshop, on November 6^th and 7^th, and about her stay in Colorado.

The next topic mentioned was the Volunteering Tourism Project. It was decided that we could start by receiving American tourists in Minas Gerais, if Colorado Committee agrees on that. Carolina will be responsible by putting together a daily itinerary for the trip. Nara and Alan will be responsible for making a good travel leaflet (either paper or one to send through email – or maybe both) so that the marketing of the trip can be done. In a later time, the accounting of how much the trip will cost will be made. The trip is planned to June or July of 2010.

The meeting was finished and the members had a Christmas get together.
